Aisha Yesufu

Aisha Yesufu is a Nigerian activist involved in multiple high-profile causes. She co-founded the #BringBackOurGirls movement, stemming from the 2014 abduction of over 200 schoolgirls by terrorist group Boko Haram. She has also been prominently involved in the End SARS movement against police brutality in Nigeria. A photograph of her wearing hijab at an End SARS protest became an iconic symbol of the movement. She is on numerous top global media lists of the world’s most influential women.

Aisha is familiar with Generation Jones, and regularly includes Gen Jones explicitly in her dealings with established powers, like here in October 2020, where she begins a public letter to her country’s government with: “Dear Nigerian Govt ( Baby Boomer, Generation Jones and the Silent generation)…”
